Extreme Lag Issues - Help!
Hey, that's the second time i post here about lag issues but this time it got far worse.
Heres the deal:
At the moment the game is in a state where i can't play it.
Not rubberbanding, not a mere chat lag or anything, an absolute freeze of the game untill the inevitable Code=007.
The moment my character loads the game is already frozen, i can't move, i can't talk in chat, windows like the guild window appear blank.
90% of the times this results in an error 7 shortly, when i do get lucky enough and the game starts responding for a second before freezing again and i get to see my lovely ping, the last ping usually ranges anywhere from 20,000 to 100,000ms.
This is all if, of course, the game even bothers to load.
Most of the time lately, i can't load the game at all, it gets to 100%, i can hear all the background sounds and even incoming whispers if there's any, but it's still sits at 100% and just doesn't load.
This happens mostly in crowded outposts but sometimes in all outposts (in the pic below you see me in Ember light camp with my pve monk since that's the only character i could load with, my 6 pvp chars are parked in RA so i can't load them and my other pve char is in kaineng center)
This happens when im connected with my router AND when im connected directly with the modem to my pc.
At any rate the ports GW is using (80 and 6112) are forwarded.
I've gone as far as reformatting my PC COMPLETELY, every last file, just because of this. that was around 2 weeks ago.
So we established it's not a router related issue or spyware\viruses\HD overload or w\e PC related issue.
Other games work perfectly, for example the ventrilo server i use is located in europe and i get 80 to 120ms which is perfectly what im supposed to get.
I'll be glad to get some help, since im really running out of ideas. thanks in advance.

try going to start menu then, then run. msconfig when window pops up go to start menu and disable all that way nothing but the game will be running on your computer

Since you've done all those things, we can safely say that's it's either lag on ANet's end, or it's a "router issue". The main thing you need to understand (if you don't already) is that when people say router or routing issue, they are not necessarily referring to your home router. The data packets that are sent back and forth between you and ANet go through many "nodes" and are processed by various "routers". The routers in these nodes are computers that determine where to pass your data packets on to to get where they're going. If one of these routers is bad, or overloaded, it can result in lost packets, lag, and/or disconnects.
The routes taken to different on-line sites and/or games are invariably different, which is why some sites/games can lag/DC while others are fine.
(Your home router does the same thing as these other routers btw - it "routes" the data packets to the proper computer in your home network.)
At any rate, since it's (probably) not your computer, and, since your ISP's routers are (probably) working (since you can access other internet sites.), there's really not a whole lot that you can do about it. And, there's not much we can do to help.
P.s. - although many people on here will blame it on ANet, my GW has been relatively lag free lately, but I'm experiencing all sorts of lag and DCs in other games - Steam games in particular.

^Don't. Unless you actually know what you're doing, it'll lead to more problems then solve.
Anyway, reformatting doesn't mean you solve all your problems. Some viruses/spyware do linger. And if its a hardware issue, formatting doesn't fix it.
To start, it would help if you posted your system specs.
